Identifying Red Flags: Top 10 Home Inspection Issues in North Carolina (IN-PERSON) @ LOTSAR

COURSE SUMMARY

This comprehensive 4-credit course focuses on the most common red flags discovered during home inspections
in North Carolina. Real estate professionals will gain a deeper understanding of home inspection issues that
could affect the sale or purchase of a home. This course is essential for those who want to better guide their
clients, mitigate risks, and make more informed decisions in the real estate process.

COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES (4 hrs Elective credit)

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance and role of home inspections in real estate transactions.
  • Identify and explain the top 10 red flags found during home inspections in North Carolina.
  • Understand the potential impacts and implications of these red flags on real estate transactions.
  • Develop strategies to guide clients through the home inspection process.
  • Understand how to communicate effectively with home inspectors and clients about these issues.
  • Analyze real-life case studies related to home inspection red flags.

The General Update (GENUP) Course is a four (4) hour course that must be completed by all provisional and non-provisional brokers who are not brokers-in-charge and/or do not have BIC-Eligible status and who wish to renew their licenses for the license year. Refer to Commission Rules 58A .1702 and 58A .1703 for a full explanation of brokers’ annual continuing education requirements and continuing education required for license activation. Brokers-in-charge and brokers with BIC-Eligible status must take the BICUP course each year to maintain BIC-Eligible status, as prescribed by Commission Rules 58A .1702 and 58A .0110. This four (4) hour course will include 210 minutes of classroom instruction and 30 minutes of breaks.

Who is it for?

The Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification is for real estate professionals who want to work with current and former military service members. The MRP certification program educates REALTORS® about working with U.S. service members and their families and veterans to find the housing solutions that best suit their needs and to take full advantage of available benefits and support.

What You Gain

  • Understanding of the processes and procedures involved in a military relocation and how these impact service members’ relocation and housing choices
  • Ability to provide information to help members through a rent or buy, sell or rent decision-making process
  • Ability to identify and provide services that help service members sell or find and purchase suitable homes
  • The knowledge of the military relocation process you need to guide service members through the real estate transaction
  • Ability to explain the basics of VA financing
  • Access to the members-only marketing tools and resources
  • The Military Relocation Professional Certification Core course is an approved elective for the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation.

How to Get Certified

  • Be in good standing with the National Association of REALTORS®.
  • Complete the one-day Military Relocation Professional (MRP) Certification Course.
  • Submit a one-time certification fee of $195.

Cracking the Code: A Guide to REALTOR® Code of Ethics and Professional Standards Enforcement (ZOOM) @ ZOOM

COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES (4 hrs Elective credit)

By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:

  • Describe the history of the Code of Ethics, including the benefits to members and the public alike in having and enforcing the Code
  • Differentiate between the various articles in the Code of Ethics
  • Apply your knowledge of the articles to various scenarios involving potential violations of the Code of Ethics
  • Breakdown and analyze the Professional Standards process, including the roles of various personnel and committees
  • Synthesize your knowledge by going through the Professional Standards process based on a specific set of facts and determining whether a violation has occurred.
